GARBAGE PICKUP, CURBSIDE RECYCLING AND YARD WASTE INFORMATION
PLEASE PUT GARBAGE/RECYCLE OUT BY 6:00 A.M.
Recycling is collected every other week.
The Village of Twin Lakes contracts with Groot Industries for garbage pick up and curbside recycling.
NEW CONSTRUCTION – Contact the Village once closing is complete to set up new service.
EXISTING HOMES – Service is already established and will continue as usual.

Electronic Waste
Electronic Waste is banned from the landfill. This includes computers and their parts as well as televisions, VCRs, CD/DVD players, FAX machines, telephones including cellular phones and many other items.
The Village accepts electronic waste at the Recycling Center twice a year, the first Saturday in May and first Saturday in September for Twin Lakes residents ONLY.
2023 Electronic Recycling Dates – Saturday, May 6 and Saturday, September 2
Lake Weeds – Seaweed
Lake weeds and seaweed pickup will be on Thursdays from Memorial Day thru the last Thursday in September.
Yard Waste
- Opens April 1st. Closes last weekend in November
Grass clippings, leaves, and brush under 6” in diameter can be dropped off at the Twin Lakes Recycling Center from April through the last weekend in November (weather permitting) on the following schedule:
Wednesdays 10:00am to 2:00pm
Saturdays 7:00am to Noon
Sundays 7:00am to Noon
The Yard Waste Recycling Center is located at the Public Works facility – 800 Burlington Avenue.
To dispose of grass clippings and leaves only outside the Recycling Center’s hours of operation, call the following:

Burning
Burning is discouraged by the Village of Twin Lakes and the Department of Natural Resources but may be used as an alternative.
Burning Ordinance: Fires for the purpose of burning leaves and plant clippings, not including wood, allowed only on private property between the hours of 7am and 7pm from September 1 through May 31.
BURNING IS PROHIBITED IN DITCHES OR DRAINAGE WAYS, ON PAVEMENT, OR IN BARRELS.
